Can we develop economic feasibility for beef cattle in zones 9 and 10? Are there opportunities for raising male calves born on a dairy farm, which are otherwise slaughtered in the region? Can there be a sufficient return on time invested by developing a small scale business that would turn male dairy calves into beef? There may be small scale or co-op opportunities in the region that could be researched. The attraction of farmers to the area may be an important component of this.
