Since aboriginal arrival and settlement, NL has historically survived on its local resources. Particularly in the last century it has become more and more dependent on outside resources - gradually giving up its sustainability through the fishery, farming and forestry (F3). In the 21st century with the help of modern technology self-sustainability and more should be achievable more than any time in our past. My idea is for MUN/Harris Centre to use SSAM as a promotional idea with government, community and industry to advocate and build " self sufficiency and more" as a means/motto to strengthen, particularly our rural communities, and grow our economic, social and cultural sectors. We have what it takes to do this.
