To distribute tourism-related research at Memorial to tourism businesses in the Kittiwake region
The Harris Centre contributed tourism-focused lay summaries to the Kittiwake Economic Development Corporation to include in a tourism binder for distribution to tourism businesses in the region. Memorial lay summaries included research on ocean habitat, climate change and oral histories. Academic research, in this accessible format, can complement existing sources of information and knowledge. For example, a bed and breakfast may be able to use the lay summaries to provide their guests with information about the local area.
Roles for Memorial University:
To provide tourism-related research in the form of lay summaries to interested tourism stakeholders in the region. The lay summaries are written in such a way that they discuss potential uses of the research.
