Red Bay as you probably know is a World Heritage Site and is recognized for its history of the Basque Whalers. That being said, there is much more history here than that. We are particularly interested in doing some exploratory work around the remains of a fur trading post located on the Western side of the bay. We believe there is potential there to tell the story of the Indigenous people and their association with French and British traders in the 1700s.
