Development of Pond Point as a Tourism Asset for the Town of Cox's Cove

Description

Visible from the Town of Cox's Cove and located approximately six nautical miles from the public dock, Pond Point is a geological anomaly which is rare. The preditite which once formed part of the earth's mantle has protruded through and sits vertically against the earth's crust. That intersection is visually apparent and the site is readily accessible by sea.
The proposed project is to describe the history and significance of this site in a manner which will establish it as worthy of visiting by tourists. Although not everyone will choose to visit the actual site, a presentation kiosk in the area from which it is visible would enhance the tourism opportunities for the Town of Cox's Cove. It's likely the story of Pond Point would be told by a combination of graphic displays accompanied by succinct narrative descriptions.
