Relationships in Context: Exploring Social Networking Theory in Education for Central Newfoundland

Objective:
To investigate best practices in Social Networking Theory in education for Central Newfoundland.

Background:
Social Networking Theory (SNT) focuses on relationships and the many ways people interrelate and communicate via various social networking platforms. Over the past number of years the Central Newfoundland Post Secondary Committee has met with representatives of various municipalities, Chambers of Commerce, Regional Economic Development Boards, and public post secondary institutions. The Committee wants a study of best of practices in SNT in education for the region. Though some groups show great interest, for some at the college and university level there are many low level needs which often take precedence over new ideas and development. The current economic situation has established new priorities for institutions, students and graduates, however, and ideas such as SNT must be explored.
