My name is Jenna MacKinnon, and I am currently a master’s student in Environmental Science at Memorial University. I’m passionate about environmental changes and how they impact marine food webs. I quantify how changes in ocean temperature and pH impact healthy fats, such as omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, at the base of marine food webs. These fats, produced in tiny marine phytoplankton, are passed up food chains to larger animals, explaining how energy effectively moves in ocean life.
