The Assessment of How People on Hemodialysis Perceive Their Life Circumstances
A series of studies was done to assess how people feel about their lives while receiving hemodialysis treatment. The results suggested that how people feel the symptoms associated with their condition, their support network, and how they redefine themselves in their new context predict their health outcomes. With this understanding a questionnaire was developed and tested to determine whether these factors can be reliably and validly measured for clinical care. Final result of the evaluation of the questionnaire is pending. The new tool may help clinical teams improve care for patients dependent on dialysis.
