The Marble Mountain Literary Festival will welcome writers and performers from Newfoundland and beyond to Marble Mountain Resort for three days of readings, workshops, performances, and networking opportunities in October of 2023. The festival will provide a platform for both new and established authors, with a particular focus on emergent and diverse voices, to share their work and to hone ideas in mutually supportive workshop environments which will be open for public registration. Keynote events by established writersand performers will welcome all to celebrate the arts in a mutually supportive environment. The festival provides a mutually beneficial connection between Grenfell Campus and Marble Mountain Resort. It provides Grenfell with an opportunity to showcase literary culture, and to engage students, particularly those in our Master of Applied Literary Arts, in meaningful experiential learning opportunities. It provides Marble with an opportunity to enrich their offerings out of ski season, and to help them fulfil their mandate of becoming a viable four-season facility. Most importantly, it offers members of the community a chance to learn from excellent contemporary writers in comfortable workshop settings, and to enjoy presentations and readings offered in the spirit of both arts and community building.
