Students have various needs throughout their academic career, ranging from seeking assistance in locating a study room or help desk to needing guidance on giving a presentation or preparing for an exam. Fortunately, Memorial provides students on all its sites with a wide range of student-focused services.
Memorial University's Academic Success Centre (ASC) has compiled many of these resources and created new ones in an effort to make it simpler for students to discover these services. As a result, the ASC has evolved into a learning center on the university's MUNUp website.
Students may connect with academic support centers through the ASC for guidance, learn about activities and events that can help them improve their learning abilities, and locate relevant resources that address the typical problems that students run into each semester. The ASC now provides more than 30 web resources and 11 videos in its library of learning skills materials, including well-liked subjects like time management, remote learning, and test and exam preparation.
A new peer-assisted learning (PAL) project, an academic assistance program run by professional student leaders, was recently launched by the ASC in addition to resources. In courses that are traditionally complex, student leaders create peer-supported learning groups, giving students the chance to interact with and collaborate with peers to better comprehend complex course ideas.
