The Grenfell Community Publishing House is a project which is designed to seek out local community members living in Western Newfoundland who have a desire to publish their own creative work. At this point in time, we are planning to publish short pieces of prose or poetry under 52 pages. The selected local community authors will be assigned an editor from Grenfell who will help them to ready their work for publication. Grenfell has secured equipment to print and bind the books. Once the books are ready for printing and publication, we will then hold a book launch for the author.
This project celebrates local community authors and utilizes resources (equipment and faculty) at Grenfell campus to strengthen existing bonds and create new relationships with writers and community members in Western Newfoundland. Through this initiative we aim to celebrate and support our local writing community by collaborating with the Corner Brook Public Library and working with the local Library Writing Group. Through this collaboration we hope to foster a sustainable local publishing house that will continue to propel local authors/encourage local community members to participate in creative writing.
