The Yukon School of Visual Arts (YSOVA), a division of the Applied Arts Faculty of Yukon University, is the
only post-secondary visual arts school in the Canadian sub-arctic, located in Dawson City, Yukon, Trʼondëk
Hwëchʼin Territory. Recent efforts to strengthen the relationship between YSOVA and Trʼondëk Hwëchʼin
have included working with local First Nations artist Jackie Olson, to develop a natural fibres course. This
award will lead to the expansion of this course to envision a plan for an experimental, land-based Summer
