The Exchange 2024 conference will be the concluding event of 5-10 community-university partnerships, called scale-up projects. In these initiatives, teams of bachelor of social work (BSW) students, faculty, graduate students and representatives from social service organizations work together to develop and co-present scholarly papers and posters on social work topics. Exchange 2024 will serve as a venue to exchange research-informed ideas for transforming social services, thereby seeking to improve societal outcomes, locally and nationally; and to provide opportunities for BSW students to meaningfully engage in scholarship and knowledge mobilization, thereby preparing the next generations of scholars. These activities equip students with the soft skills (self-confidence, knowledge) and tangible benefits (achievements to include in their CV, contacts for future projects) to pursue research careers. This event builds on successful Exchanges conferences in 2018 and 2020. The date and location are to be determined.
