Intervention Strategies for Students with Disabilities
This activity extends the assessment component of the University Counselling Centre and builds upon the accommodation activities of the Blundon Centre for Students with Disabilities, whose mission highlights the provision of services to enable students with disabilities to maximize their educational potential. A protocol is being developed to provide compensatory skills to students with a variety of disabilities that manifest in the learning context. In particular, students diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, a variety of learning disabilities, and ADHD/ADD will be able to benefit from this training. Students may also benefit from enrollment in the Academic Skills Portfolio D2L non-credit course as a supplement to this training.
