Catherine McLean Fraser: The Ministers Wife
Much has been written about Donald Allan Fraser, the first Presbyterian minister in NL, but what about his wife Catherine? Fiery Kate was not only a wife and mother (10 sons and 1 daughter), but also the minister's helpmate. Widowed shortly after they came to NL, she lived in a house which was built for her by loving parishioners from their first congregation in Nova Scotia. An article with this title appeared in the Newfoundland Quarterly, Winter 2012/2013, 105 (3), 30-35. A presentation, entitled Catherine Isabella McLean Fraser Mother in Israel, was given in the Blue Castle series, October 26, 2009.
