Lego Visit - Daniele Benedettelli
Daniele is a Lego Robotics freelancer from Italy who specializes in using robotics in education. He has written books and developed one of a kind robotic systems using Lego Mindstorm kits. During his 2 and 1/2 day visit, he met with several groups. Main events included: a meeting with Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences (FEAS) faculty members, a free public lecture/demonstration (S.J. Carew building), a visit/demonstration with one of the FEAS summer enrichment programs and workshops with First Lego league mentors and Brick4kidz participants. St. John's was the final stop on his North American visit this summer. He really enjoyed his time here, especially the academic environment of Memorial. We were able to engage a wide range of audiences with his visit and for his free public event; we had approximately 100 people of all ages turn up.
