Design of Sense-and-Avoid algorithms for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle
The programs focus is aimed at developing Sense and Avoid (SAA) systems for small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The first PhD thesis investigates the equivalent levels of safety for UAVs and for piloted aircrafts. The second PhD investigates and formalizes the improvement of UAV simulation algorithms from which see-and-avoid strategies can be examined.
