Collaboration between Grenfell ENACTUS students and the Bonne Bay Cottage Hospital Heritage Corporation: Identifying and addressing entrepreneurial and sustainability issues in social enterprises

Lay Summary

The Bonne Bay Cottage Hospital Heritage Corporation (BBCHHC) located in Norris Point is a non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve one of the last remaining cottage hospitals in Newfoundland and Labrador. BBCHHC has adapted the hospital and turned it into a social enterprise that plays a role in the promotion of health and wellness in the community, the preservation of culture, heritage, and environment, as well as the promotion of local socio-economic development.

The goal of this project is to establish a more formal collaboration and community-based engagement that will involve a faculty member from the Business program (and possibly other programs at Grenfell Campus, such as Historical Studies, Socio-Cultural Studies, Environmental Policy Institute), students, such as Grenfell ENACTUS, and board members of BBCHHC to meet, explore, identify and address entrepreneurial and sustainability issues affecting BBCHHC and other social enterprises in the region.
