Anne Troake Dance/Film Workshop

Lay Summary

This one-day workshop with artist Anne Troake offered Grenfell BFA students the opportunity to learn about movement and film and begin to conceptualize and create their own films.

This was in relation to Troake’s exhibit at the Grenfell Campus Art Gallery which included OutsideIn, a stereoscopic journey in four phases through the boreal landscape of Newfoundland. It features dancers, Carol Prieur and Bill Coleman, with sound design by Ross Murray and music by Murray and Grammy Award-winning, Jim O’Rourke. In this stereoscopic vision which is both intimate and monumental, Troake investigates notions of wilderness and culture which draw from a lively tradition of in-situ art practice while recalling the rich history of nude and landscape artwork.
