With the support of an Office of Public Engagement’s Quick Start grant, a series of four targeted Experiential Learning Sessions were held in February and March 2016, with a final presentation of results to the Deans in April. The intent was to bring together faculty, students, and stakeholders to network and create student learning experiences, using existing university and community resources. The four sessions focused on creation of targeted learning opportunities for language students, opportunities for community engaged learning within the environment to promote wellness, and sharing of projects and best practices throughout the university. There was much discussion on interdisciplinary and collaborative work between departments, and there was extensive student consultation to understand how to better enhance the student experience, particularly with regards to community engaged learning.
