Public Scholar Program for Graduate Students

Lay Summary

There is an increasing pressure on researchers and scholars to demonstrate the impact and significance of their work on the world outside of academia. Public Scholar Program for Graduate Students will provide Memorial's graduate students with tools and training focused on research communications and knowledge mobilization. The program consists of four sessions covering: an introduction to knowledge mobilization, crafting research summaries, working with the media to tell effective research stories, and use of social media for research communications and knowledge mobilization.

The sessions are open to all graduate students at Memorial and available through live webcast to students across campuses and institutes as well as to those students currently engaged in field work.

Public Scholar Program for Graduate Students is a School of Graduate Studies pilot program developed in partnership with the Leslie Harris Centre of Regional Policy and Development at Memorial University.
