Lay Summary
In this day-long event, workshop participants learned, created, and practiced six evidence-based approaches to help support children / students with exceptionalities / special needs. The intention was to leave the event with strategies that they could use the next day at school, at home, and/or in the community. The agenda included an introduction to Applied Behaviour Analysis with follow-up strategies of: prompting, first/then, visual schedules, choice boards, token boards, and power cards. The project event had an overwhelming uptake and was evaluated highly by its participants with a call for follow-up workshops.
