Lay Summary

This project uses the Ministry of Pensions and National Insurance war pension files, held at the National Archives UK in Kew Gardens, England, to investigate the long-term health complications of First World War ex-servicemen who had contracted malaria during the war, the relationship between the scientific community and British policymakers, and how disease affected the ability of ex-servicemen to find employment.
