A Comparison of Benthic Taxonomic Diversity Between Vegetated and Unvegetated Environments in Newman Sound, Terra Nova Park, Newfoundland.

Lay Summary

In 2005 divers collected thirty pairs of benthic samples (using cores), with one sample of each pair within eelgrass habitat, and the other in adjacent sand (unvegetated) habitat. The benthos collected will be identified in 2006, preferably to the species level, and it will be determined if there is greater diversity of benthos within eelgrass compared to unvegetative habitat, or if there is no difference. A general benthic species list for Terra Nova National Park will also be compiled.
