Adding Colour to Your Garden with Annuals
Description: Garden Director, Dr. Wilf Nicholls, will show you how to add colour to your garden with annuals. He will talk about colours, design, and the colour wheel. Advice on selecting, planting and tending annuals will also be covered, as well as how to get the best out of them. Participants will also visit the greenhouse to view the Garden's spring production of annuals. Dr. Nicholls' presentation will be followed by a delicious lunch provided by the Bloomin' Teapot Tearoom.

Growing Orchids as Houseplants
Description: Why are orchids considered the "ultimate" houseplant? What makes them so fascinating? Join our research horticulturist as he introduces you to the main groups of orchids which may be cultivated indoors. With the literally tens of thousands of orchids that exist, there are at least a few adaptable for any given growing condition. See which ones would grow best for you! Todd's presentation will be followed by a delicious lunch provided by the Bloomin' Teapot Tearoom.

Bulbs for Spring
Description: Join Todd Boland, our Research Horticulturist, as he describes the many selections of fall-planted bulbs that may be planted now for a glorious display next spring. He will also discuss how best to grow these bulbs for maximum effect. Bring your questions and a good appetite. Todd's presentation will be followed by a delicious lunch provided by the Bloomin' Teapot Tearoom.

Putting Your Garden to Bed
Description: Several fall gardening topics will be demonstrated in this workshop- everything you need to know to get your garden ready for winter. Most demonstrations will take place in the flower gardens so please be prepared to go outside. Topics will include: winter protection, compost (or how to use those autumn leaves), preparing perennial beds for winter, dismantling summer planters, enhancing soil, etc. The presentation will be followed by a delicious lunch provided by the Bloomin' Teapot Tearoom.
