Improving the Selective Harvesting and Handling of Snow Crab - A Community Model

Lay Summary 

The purpose of this project was to develop a conservation oriented approach to the harvest and transport of product in the commercial snow crab fishery in Newfoundland and Labrador. Building on the positive results of earlier work conducted in Petty Harbour, this project refined and advanced the use of escape mechanisms and flexible bag systems by four enterprises.
