Dr. Mohsin Jamil is a Senior Member of IEEE and a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada. He is currently an Assistant Professor within the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada, since August 2019. He serves as associate editor of IEEE Access, IEEE Canadian Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Energies. Between 2016 and 2019, he worked in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Islamic University of Madinah, Saudi Arabia. Between 2012 and 2016, he worked at the Robotics Department of the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan. He holds a Ph.D. degree from the University of Southampton, the U.K, along with two master's degrees from Dalarna University Sweden and the National University of Singapore. He is the proud recipient of different awards and funding grants of worth. He is the author and co-author of more than 100 publications in different journals and peer-reviewed conferences. His research interests include control systems design, renewable energy systems, power electronic converters and smart grids.
My main interests include control system techniques for different applications, primarily focusing on power electronic converters for smart grids and mechatronic systems. I like to work in other multidisciplinary areas as well, such as system identification, biomedical engineering and communication systems. I like to use artificial intelligence-based control techniques for different applications.
