This theatrical project was a fully-staged performances of The Play of Daniel. This dramatized telling of the Old Testament story of the prophet Daniel has endured over eight centuries, and this production received a full theatrical treatment with a cast of 50 singers, instrumentalists, and dancers. This included a chorus comprised of the VIVA Youth Singers, musicians from the Toronto Consort, and a cast of 10 actors/dancers. This was the Canadian premiere of the work in English, in a new translation from the original Latin by Toronto Constort Artistic Director David Fallis.
The show premiered at Trinity-St. Paul's Centre, Jeanne Lamon Hall in May 2015. It provided an opportunity to make a medieval play, perhaps the first-ever musical theatre score, accessible and appealing to modern, Toronto audiences.
